Spilamberto

Spilamberto is an enchanting village whose charm lies in its rural atmosphere and its well-preserved historic center. The village is known for several attractions, including the Fortress.

The 12th-century Rocca Rangoni of Spilamberto stands majestically in the center of the town. Originally a defensive fortress, it has undergone several transformations over the centuries, but preserves traces of the ancient drawbridge and perimeter walls. The structure is imposing, with towers and walls that evoke the medieval past. Between the 15th and 16th centuries the Rocca was the residence of Niccolò Rangoni, Lord of Spilamberto and husband of Bianca Bentivoglio. Today the fortress hosts cultural events, exhibitions and performances, making the visit even more fascinating.

The village of Spilamberto itself is characterized by narrow paved alleys, traditional houses in warm colors, and a lively central square. The narrow streets are filled with artisan stores where you can buy typical local products, especially the traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

Throughout the year, Spilamberto offers various events related to culture and tradition, such as food and wine festivals and historical events, which make this village a fascinating place to visit.
