Levizzano Rangone

Levizzano Rangone is a charming village a few kilometers from Castelvetro. It retains the charm of medieval architecture, with its narrow winding streets, stone houses and small cozy squares.

The Castle of Levizzano Rangone is one of the main attractions of the village. This imposing structure dates back to the medieval period and has undergone several transformations over the centuries. Today, many parts of the castle have been restored and preserved, allowing visitors to admire the ancient walls, towers, and remnants of the fortifications that once protected the village.

Within the city walls stand the Torre Matildica, a fortified tower, and a chapel now deconsecrated. On the first floor are the so-called Bishops’ Rooms, whose ceiling is decorated by noteworthy frescoes.

Panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and hilly landscapes of Emilia-Romagna can be enjoyed from the castle. This historic place is also home to cultural events, art exhibitions and performances that add to the charm of Levizzano Rangone Castle.

The surrounding area is also renowned for its natural beauty, with rolling hills, vineyards, and rural landscapes offering opportunities for hiking, walking, or biking through the picturesque surroundings.
