A legend of stickers and collector
On Monday evening at the PalaPanini in Modena, the official celebration took place for the 100th anniversary of Giuseppe Panini’s birth, the Modena entrepreneur who revolutionised the world of collectible stickers in Italy and globally
The event featured guests such as Luca Cordero di Montezemo, Walter Veltroni, Gianfranco Zola and Julio Velasco, celebrating not just a publisher but a cultural and sporting icon.
Giuseppe Panini, born on 9 November 1925 and founder of Edizioni Panini in Modena, didn’t just build a sticker empire — he fostered generations to collect, exchange and share, making the simple act of sticking an album a social ritual.
This centenary honours more than just one man — it honours an entire heritage of creativity, entrepreneurship and local pride. To explore Modena from its roots to its passion, check out our Motors, Arts & Crafts and Food & Wine experiences — and experience the territory like a true local.
